'The Maiden - (The Nine Maidens: Boskednan Stone Circle, Cornwall)'.

Materials: Cornish Brown Slate. Steel. Glass. Wood.

Dimensions: 19 x 15 1/2 x 7 1/2 Inches.

Legend has it that these young maidens were turned to stone for impiety, (dancing on the Sabbath).

On the top of the slate is a map showing the location of this stone circle. The underside of the stone is carved with the figure of one of the 'maidens' which can only be seen in the mirror below. Scattered on the mirror are eight pieces of slate, each containing one verse from a poem
